Voice Assistants

While not strictly necessary, voice assistants are a fairly standard component of a home automation system so you aren’t required to open your phone every time you want to control something. Keep in mind when looking at products that compatibility with a voice assistant is based on out of the box functionality without a hub to coordinate. With a hub such as Home Assistant, virtually anything can be controlled by voice commands by linking them to scripts.
